Comparing Healthy Eating Programs ('Diets'): Which one is right for you?
There are so many healthy eating programs, or 'diets,' out there, it can get confusing, and more so, exhausting, to find one that works best for your lifestyle. Although I believe in choosing a food plan that most points people in the right direction to a sustainable lifestyle of eating, I do know we all need to get started somewhere.
Yes, I am a Whole30 Coach and I do truly believe in the program. However, I also know there are many different programs out there to choose from because not every human is the same. Also, I chose Whole30 because it's not a 'diet,' but a 'dietary reset' that works with my lifestyle.
Below are quick tables to highlight what the most common diets out there allow, don't allow, etc. I hope seeing these side-by-side comparisons help you try ones you may be interested in, and wean out ones you definitely don't need/want to try.
