P'tula Legging Review

P'tula = Passion To Unite & Live Actively

Founded in 2016 by Sami B, P’tula quickly became my favorite activewear brand when I found it in 2017/2018. The pieces are functional yet flattering and continues to amaze me with every launch. By far my FAVORITE activewear brand.

A few side notes:

1. All P'tula leggings are squat proof, so I did not include that as a category under each legging.

2. I mention cellulite in some reviews below. I embrace cellulite as it is something most, if not all, of us have. That being said, I know many people would like to hide some dimples and I 100% respect that as well; so I include it in the reviews :)

3. This review is only on leggings, but I love so many other pieces of this brand. I can post another article on other great P'tula pieces if requested.

My Measurements:

Height: 5'4"

Weight: 140lb

Waist: 29"

Hips: 35"

Glutes: 39"

Preffered legging size: Prefer Medium (but always between Small & Medium)

For reference - Lululemon legging sizing: Align legging- 4. All other leggings - 6

§ Bare leggings

· Soft: 3

· Compression: 1

· Stretch: 3

· Sizing: True to size, but if in between sizes, size down – I get a Small

· Overall thoughts: The BEST leggings to show off the glutes. Barely-there feel and super comfortable for everyday wear. I do wear these to the gym, but usually only when I do low-intensity workouts, just because the fabric is so delicate.

§ Stealth leggings

· Soft: 2

· Compression: 2

· Stretch: 3

· Sizing: True to size, but if in between sizes, size down – I get a Small

· Overall thoughts: Great compression because material is thick. On the flip side, they’re a little warm to workout in because of this material, but I still do high intensity workouts in them and it’s fine. Holds everything in and the camo pattern does not allow for cellulite to show through. I also love that the camp pattern is there, but subtle (I'm not a huge print person).

§ Taylor leggings

· Soft: 3

· Compression: 1

· Stretch: 3

· Sizing: True to size – I get a Medium

· Overall thoughts: I think these are definitely a hybrid between Bare & Stealth. They’re performance-based so the material is more compressive and lightweight, but not too thin (& not too thick). To me, these are one of P’tula’s more flattering leggings to workout in.

§ Mayra leggings

· Soft: 3

· Compression: 1

· Stretch: 3

· Sizing: True to size – I get a Medium

· Overall thoughts: Built for comfort. These feel ‘plushy’, cottony, and super soft. I rarely workout in them because the fabric is so delicate, but possible if the workout is more low- impact. I love them for lounging around and running errands.

§ Alainah II Allure leggings

· Soft: 2

· Compression: 2

· Stretch: 2

· Sizing: True to size – I get a Medium

· Overall thoughts: These are P’tula’s signature leggings – the ones everyone says to get as your first pair. They have more of a sleek-feel, so better under the performance category than others. These ones also have pockets which are a plus! I don’t reach for these as much simply because of the lighter colors. I’m more of a neutral/darker color legging gal.

§ Shelby leggings

· Soft: 2

· Compression: 2

· Stretch: 2

· Sizing: True to size – I get a Medium

· Overall thoughts: These are great all-around leggings (like the numbers above). Functional enough to be compressive and held in during workouts, yet comfortable enough to keep on after to run errands. They have lines that contour the legs and glutei which makes for a very flattering and just an overall versatile legging to have in my collection.

§ Crystal leggings

· Soft: 1 (sleeker feel)

· Compression: 3

· Stretch: 1

· Sizing: True to size – I get a Medium (If between sizes  size up)

· Overall thoughts: These are the highest performance leggings I own from P’tula. They do not move when they’re on, so I often wear them to go running. They do cut into the hips a little, due to the compression, but I don’t mind because it allows for little movement when doing high-intensity workouts. They remind me of Lululemon’s All the right places leggings; that sleek compression. My go-tops for running, jumping, sports, etc.

§ Danielle leggings

· Soft: 2

· Compression: 2

· Stretch: 2

· Sizing: True to size – I get a Medium

· Overall thoughts: I want to say almost the exact same about these than I did about the Shelby's. Only difference is there's no contour stitching on these (compared to the Shelby's). Neutral, wearable, comfortable legging.
